On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, the #DFoNPAM Coordinator in Kampong Thom Province and HACC organized a forum at the Kampong Thom Royal Hotel to discuss the results of Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) implementation.

This forum marked the first occasion in Kampong Thom Province where all stakeholders gathered to address issues related to stigma and discrimination and to devise solutions for the community.

Key representatives from relevant institutions attended, including the Department of Health, Steung Sen Municipality, representatives from the eight communes, Kampong Thom OD, provincial referral hospitals, ART Site, and communities of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and Key Populations (KPs). Additionally, the CCC and the National AIDS Authority (NAA) also participated.

The forum focused on the second quarter of 2024 CLM results concerning stigma and discrimination. Out of 124 feedback responses, 27% of individuals reported experiencing stigma and discrimination. Other significant findings included:

  • 21% were afraid to access other services.
  • 22% felt dissatisfied with themselves.
  • Stigmatization and discrimination incidents occurred 58% in communities, 29% at workplaces, 10% with service providers, and 3% within households.

The forum was supported by a Global Fund (GF) budget and coordinated by #HACC. Reported by Samnang Masa DFoNPAM Leader in Kampong Thom Province.
