Following the activity on September 3, 2025, in Kampong Cham and Takeo, the Health Action Coordinating Committee (HACC), in collaboration with TPO Cambodia and with funding support from the Ambassade de France au Cambodge, continued its efforts to promote mental wellbeing among LGBTQI+ communities.
On September 10–11, 2025, four additional group discussion sessions were held in Preah Sihanouk and Battambang provinces, bringing together 22 LGBTQI+ participants. The sessions provided a safe and inclusive space for community members to share their experiences and emotional challenges while receiving professional guidance. In addition to group discussions, two individual counseling sessions were also conducted.
Participants not only shared their struggles but also learned practical techniques such as breathing and relaxation exercises to support their mental wellbeing. They were also connected to information about available mental health services.
Many participants expressed that they felt more relieved, supported, and empowered after joining the sessions, and called for such initiatives to continue in the future.
By expanding these activities across provinces, HACC and partners are helping to strengthen access to safe spaces and professional mental health support for LGBTQI+ individuals, ensuring that no one has to face their challenges alone.
Together, we are building a stronger foundation for inclusive mental health support in Cambodia.
