Mr. Tim Vora, Executive Director of HACC and representative of the CSO platform for Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), joined a two-day regional CSO consultation in preparation for the GC8 funding request development. The meeting was organized in a hybrid format and physically held in Bangkok, Thailand, from April 23–24, 2026, with the CSO steering committee and NGOs implementing malaria programs in the GMS.
The objectives of the meeting included sharing updates on the RAI5 funding request development, discussing the CSO platform strategy and activity plan for 2027–2029, and providing updates on the CSO platform governance election process and the RSC CSO representative election for the next three-year term (2027–2029).
Key outputs:
– Discussed key priorities for the CSO Platform strategic plan and key activities to be implemented under RAI5
– Identified priority activities for each country by mapping existing interventions, NGOs, and development partner (DP) support, and identified priority provinces for RAI5 implementation in each country
– Shared and discussed the CSO platform governance structure, including the review of TORs, terms, and conditions for CSO representatives. Participants agreed to extend the term limit from two terms to three terms for representatives who wish to continue serving the CSO platform
– Shared findings from the GEDSI assessment
– Presented and shared results of CLM implementation in Thailand and Lao PDR
– Presented the CSO platform work plan for 2026
– Other discussions included sustainability, integration, increasing government co-financing, and support for the implementation of non-state actors
