A total of 164 youths, parents, and caregivers participated in a discussion forum on sexual health, reproductive health, and rights.
The discussion focused on general health, sexual health, reproductive health, and the rights of youth, along with the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports’ health app. The forum also addressed various problems that occur between families and youth in the community regarding sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as encouraging youth to seek health services at health centers.
In addition, health center staff raised awareness about HIV and AIDS within the community to promote a better understanding of prevention methods, preventing unintended pregnancies, and preventing sexually transmitted diseases.
This discussion forum was very important because it helped participants better understand sexual health, reproductive health, and rights. For parents, it provided greater insight into youth health issues and empowered them to encourage their children to seek needed services at health centers.
The forum was organized by HACC on November 19-20, 2024, with financial support from Plan International Cambodia. The forum was held in four villages in the Srey Snam district, Siem Reap province, including Prei, Tram Sasar, Slaeng Spean, and Romeat villages.
