Mr. Tim Vora, Executive Director of HACC, has been elected by NGOs work on Malaria program to be the CSO RSC Representative for the Malaria Free Mekong Initiative for the next three years from 20242-206. The announcement made at the CSO platform regional workshop organized by the Malaria Free Mekong from 20-21 December 2023 at Bangkok, Thailand.
The objective of the workshop including:
1. This workshop likely provided an opportunity for him to meet with other CSO representatives and stakeholders, discuss important issues related to malaria control, and learn about best practices. To review and identify successful approaches and lesson learned on RAI3E implementation.
2. To understand the approaches and existing tools to meet the needs of communities for malaria services on RAI4E implementation.
3. To share and update on RAI4E implementation plan with Platform partners.
CSO works on malaria from five countries joined the meeting. Those countries are Cambodian, Lao, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand. In addition, the meeting was also attended by UNOPS and other development partners as well. The workshop also included sharing, group discussion and panelist discussion by sharing from each country.
Main sharing and discussing included the updating from the platform has been implementing RAI3E and planning for RAI4E, PSEAH key progress, community based complain mechanism, SCBB and IEC materials, CLM planning, gender in malaria, CSO platform training need assessment, understanding the Vivax and existing tools in the pipeline for malaria response, GEDSI planning in platform, presentation and discussion on private providers role in malaria response, panel discussion on forest goers and mobile population in malaria and group discussion on partner implementation and mapping. At the end, each country was invited to do group work aims to map geographic area and target population who are at high risk of Malaria infection. The result will be considered for the implementation for the next 3 years.
