At the Regional Meeting on Updating the Progress of the HIV / AIDS Response in Cambodia, H.E. Tea Phala, Deputy Director of the National AIDS Authority (NAA), said that the NAA has integrated community-led monitoring (CLM) in the Sixth National Comprehensive Strategic Plan for HIV and AIDS Response for 2024 to 2028. This is because the NAA believes that the implementation of the CLM has really played an important role in strengthening HIV/AIDS response to achieve the first 95% goal.
The meeting was organized by the National AIDS Authority on 28-29 August 2024 at the Royal Hotel, Kampong Thom province, focusing on the cooperation of all relevant institutions, especially the Provincial AIDS Committee include Phnom Penh, Kandal, Takeo, Kampong Chhnang, Battambang, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Kampong Speu, Banteay Meanchey, Prey Veng, Tbong Khmum, Pailin, as well as civil society organization partners such and FoNPAM Forum.
Mr. Seum Sophal, #FoNPAM Officer of the Health Action Coordinating Committee (#HACC) was also invited to express his interest and make a presentation on CLM. Mr. Sophal emphasized the importance of intervention using people center approach, and this is the pride of the FoNPAM Forum as well. He hopes that this #CLM will be expanded and implemented in all provinces across the country.
